ANNOT8 VS BUGHERD

The BugHerd alternative with a free plan

BugHerd combines point-and-click website feedback with a built-in task board. Annot8 covers the same pinned-feedback job — with a free plan, per-seat pricing, and the trackers your engineers use included on the $10 tier.

What BugHerd does well

Start with the workflow BugHerd focuses on, then evaluate it against your own review tasks.

Client-friendly to its core

BugHerd lists unlimited client users and supports point-and-click comments. Test the review flow with your own clients before committing.

A kanban board built in

Feedback lands on a task board you can drag through columns without leaving BugHerd — no tracker required for small teams.

Feedback beyond websites

Figma files, PDFs, and images can be reviewed in the same tool, plus video feedback on all plans.

THE DIFFERENCES

Where Annot8 and BugHerd part ways

Where the two tools actually diverge — pricing model, scope, and the things Annot8 doesn't do.

Compare a bundled plan with per-seat pricing

BugHerd lists Standard at $50/month or $42/month billed annually, with five members. Annot8 Pro is $10/seat/month or $8 billed yearly. A two-member Annot8 team pays $20 monthly; a five-member team pays $50. Check capture, storage, and integration requirements before comparing the totals.

Check the plan that includes your tracker

BugHerd lists Jira, Asana, Linear, ClickUp, and Monday.com under Premium: $150/month, or $125/month billed annually. Annot8 includes Jira Cloud, Linear, GitHub, GitLab, Asana, and Trello on Pro. Provider delivery is one-way; statuses do not sync back.

Feedback is one of four surfaces

BugHerd is visual feedback plus a kanban. Annot8's same widget also runs a public feedback board with voting and a roadmap, live chat, and product analytics for the site itself.

What Annot8 doesn't have

No Figma, PDF, or image review — Annot8 is for live websites and staging. No built-in kanban either: triage happens in the inbox, and the board lives in your tracker.

THE VERDICT

Which one should you pick?

Both answers are legitimate. This is the shortest honest version of when each tool wins.

Pick Annot8 if…

  • You want to start with Free, or buy paid seats for the number of teammates you have.
  • Your engineers use an Annot8-supported tracker and need the integrations included on Pro.
  • You want the feedback board, live chat, and analytics without adding more tools to the page.

Stick with BugHerd if…

  • You review Figma files, PDFs, and images in the same flow as websites.
  • You want feedback managed on a built-in kanban rather than in your tracker.
  • Your team prefers flat plan pricing over per-seat.
